Name: Katherine Burnett

School: Cochise Community College

Cadet Level: Cadet Instructor

What did you choose aviation as a career path? The challenge and the thrill. There is always something new to learn and master. The feeling of flying is indescribable.

How has the PSA Cadet Program Impacted your aviation path? It has made me feel more secure in my career path even with COVID-19 causing a delay.

What is your favorite part about being a Flight Instructor? Being able to share my passion for aviation and the relationships I get to build with my students.

What is the best career advice you have received? Not to rush; it’s okay to take your time to become a master of your craft.

What is your advice for the next generation of pilots? Take the time to learn the headwork involved in being a pilot, not just the flying skill.

What does it mean to you to be a woman in aviation? I think it means being the example for other young women looking at this as a potential career path and encouraging them through example to do so.

Where is your favorite place to travel? Anywhere there is mountains and a lake, I am happy!

What is an interesting fact about you? I enjoy building and selling furniture made out of wood.
