In honor of Black History Month, we are spotlighting team members and their stories. Meet Machell Still-Pettis, a PHL-based Flight Attendant who is a direct descendent of the Still family, who fought tirelessly to help hundreds of slaves escape to freedom.

We are proud to honor the men and women of PSA who served in the military by highlighting their stories throughout the month of November. DCA-based Captain Scott Peters was an officer in the U.S. Marines from 1996-2006. Scott explained how he became a Marine, some of what the Marines taught him, the transition to commercial flying, and how his military career has helped him at PSA.

As part of our support of veterans during National Veterans and Military Families Month, we are publishing Stories of Honor in November. This post is from Jamie Cecil, a Flight Attendant based in Philadelphia, who served in the U.S. Navy where she found a love for aviation that led her to PSA.

We are in the business of bringing people together and impacting our customers’ lives in a positive manner. When our team members have a unique connection, like two of our Flight Attendants Alejandra Ramos-Berrios and Kashleen Abreu do, it brings a special experience to our customers.

Working his way from an aviation parts specialist to a mechanic at our Greenville-Spartanburg maintenance base, Carlos Jusino found his way back to the job he loves and feels like there are endless opportunities for the Latino community to follow the same path. Carlos shares what he loves about his job and what we can do to encourage others to join the aviation industry.

We know our customers value getting to their destinations on time. It is a key factor in their experience and whether they want to fly on American in the future, but sometimes delays happen that are out of our control. Recently, Captain Jose O. Torres Lopez communicated that a long delay was ahead and went above and beyond his duty to ensure they understood why and was available to answer their questions.
