Faces of PSA- Kia Wood

Name: Kia Wood

Title: Supply Chain Analyst

How long have you worked for PSA? 5 years

How long have you been in the airline industry? 5 years

Give us a brief overview of what you do: Serve as the K2 Parts Requisition and Tableau implementation liaison and SME for the Inventory Planning and Sourcing Department. Works in conjunction with the Finance department to compile budgetary information into monthly reports. Main contributor to the MyPSA portal for the Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department.

Can you give a brief explanation of what K2 and Tableau implementation means? K2 is a process automation application and Tableau produces interactive data visualizations. Both of which are resources new to PSA that we are utilizing to make the most of our job functionalities.

What is one of the biggest challenges of your job? Our department is a new department at PSA so we are building processes from the ground up. Although it is a challenge, it is one of the things that drew me to work in this department.

You say your department is new. What was the department before and how has it changed in your five years? We went from having a four-person Component Repair Department to a 12-person (and growing) Strategic Sourcing & Procurement department which encompasses Inventory Planning & Sourcing and Component Repair & Warranty.

How many roles have you had at PSA? Which is your favorite? Two. I worked as a Component Repair Administrator for 4.5 years. I can’t pick a favorite. That would be like picking a favorite child.

Where’s your favorite place you have traveled? Coronado Island right outside of San Diego, California. It is so picturesque.

What are some of your hobbies? Interior decorating and spending time with my husband and two sons.

What do you love about working for PSA? I love that it feels like working with family. Everyone gets along and we enjoy each other’s company. When someone is out of the office, their presence is truly missed.

Would you recommend PSA and why? Yes, I would. With the growth that PSA has seen in the last few years, there are so many opportunities to be a part of something you can visibly see becoming so great.
