PSA earns OnCon’s Top 100 Learning & Development Team Award, continuing string of recognition in 2024

PSA, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group and leading regional airline, today announced it has received OnCon’s Top 100 Learning & Development Team Award, continuing its string of recognition for providing a best-in-class talent experience to current and prospective team members. This year alone, PSA received the OnCon Icon Award for 2023 Top 100 Talent Acquisition teams and was named as a finalist in the Charlotte Business Journal’s Best in HR Awards. 

 

“These awards and nominations represent external recognition of the work our teams are doing to attract, retain, develop and support the best talent in the aviation industry,” said Vice President of Talent Management Christine Hollanshead. “I’m proud of all the team members who collaborated to earn these honors by positively impacting our organization. This kind of recognition showcases not only the ways PSA is a great place to work, but our team’s commitment to maintaining a talent pipeline and developing team members with an eye toward future growth and success.” 

 

PSA provides a rich learning environment for both its frontline team members and its support staff. Earlier this year, Aviation Week highlighted PSA’s innovative approach to closing the initial gap between its entry-level aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) and the skills needed to service the company’s aircraft by switching to a more “progressive training model” whereby AMTs spend the first month on the floor to gain perspective on what they will learn during the next phase of training. 

 

Additionally, PSA has focused on modernizing its digital training and troubleshooting offerings, including the use of video learning platform SkyTech, and a Virtual 360 Aircraft Tool, which allows AMTs to explore and learn about every part of the aircraft from their desk. Both platforms are being integrated for a more immersive and effective training experience. 

 

PSA provides a full-cycle recruiting and development experience for candidates and team members from the high-touch and personalized recruiting process to learning and development courses and programs designed to foster individual growth and organizational development. These include: 

 

  • Live and virtual new employee orientation sessions. 
  • Customized business unit training including topics such as customer service, team dynamics, engagement survey listening sessions, and leadership fundamentals sessions to reinforce learning from previous modules. 
  • Enhanced performance management and merit programs. 
  • Succession planning and mentoring programs designed to identify, develop, and enhance the health of our leadership pipeline.
