Father’s Day Spotlight: Jerome and J’Len Morgan
In honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16, PSA would like to extend a special thanks to all fathers and father figures. For this occasion, we are proud to spotlight Jerome Morgan, a senior recruiter, and his son, J’Len Morgan, an aviation parts specialist. Check out the Q&A with Jerome below.
What was your journey to aviation and PSA?
While in the Marine Corps, I fell in love with recruiting. When I retired, I became a JROTC Instructor based in Houston. I was there for two years and away from my family, so I decided to transfer and was based in Greensboro, N.C. While there, I was missing the time recruiting and helping people, and I wanted to start traveling and flying for free. That is when I started looking into aviation. While having numerous offers from airlines, PSA was the company that aligned with my values. I came on as a flight attendant, and six months later, I was recruiting again.
What is it like working for the same company as your son?
It is a blessing working with my son. I have always taught my sons to not be like me, but to always be better than me at everything they do. I watched him work so hard with other companies, and he did not get paid for the work he did. I told him how much I loved PSA and that he should apply to be an Aviation Parts Specialist, and he has been striving ever since he started. It is great to hear the people he works for tell me how much they love him and the work that he does for them.
In honor of Father’s Day, what about the holiday do you cherish the most?
While in the Marine Corps, I have missed a lot of holidays, birthdays, and the birth of my youngest son while serving overseas. What I cherish most is the opportunity to see how much my boys appreciate everything I have done for them and know that I love them unconditionally and would do anything for them. It is great to know that my boys appreciate me as their father as much as I appreciate them.
