PSA Airlines Offers Top-Of-Industry Compensation For Mechanics

Pay

DAYTON, Ohio – PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, is enhancing its compensation package for Airframe/Powerplant (A&P) mechanics, with top-of-industry rates for first-year pay up to $58,600. This compensation provides A&P mechanics with unparalleled benefits and supports PSA’s growth mission by remaining competitive in the regional industry to retain and attract the best mechanics.

“At PSA, we are committed to investing in our team members to ensure we build and foster an environment for our team to be successful,” said Gary Pratt, Vice President, Maintenance & Engineering – PSA Airlines. “In this rapidly-changing industry, we are making the necessary compensation investments to provide the best career path for mechanics. There has never been a better time to join the PSA team.”

With these new changes, prospective A&P mechanics can look forward to the following benefits:

  • Industry-leading first-year pay up to $58,600
    • Base pay includes $24.05 per hour
    • Experience bonus up to $15,000 for qualified mechanics
  • New tool box and tools for qualified A&P mechanics, valued at more than $5,000, to ensure mechanics have the resources to do their job when they begin their PSA career.
  • Comprehensive paid training

PSA has made several investments this year to build the best maintenance organization in the industry. PSA’s military transition program provides aircraft mechanics the opportunity to transfer into the commercial aviation industry. Experienced military aircraft mechanics who are interested in earning their Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license are eligible to receive up to $10,000 to assist with the transition. PSA is supporting this military transition by sponsoring the full cost of the A&P course, FAA license testing, tools and toolbox. In addition, PSA recently announced the most valuable path for interested students at select partner schools to transition from the classroom to aviation maintenance hangars at PSA. Through this partnership, students are eligible to receive up to $2,000 to cover the cost of earning their Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license and will receive immediate placement as a PSA mechanic once their certification is completed. PSA currently has premier partnerships with Ohio-based schools, Great Oaks Career Center, Miami Valley Career Technology Center and Sinclair Community College and are looking to grow that list with various schools around the network.

PSA has maintenance facilities in Akron-Canton Airport (CAK), Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP), Norfolk International Airport (ORF), Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), Pensacola International Airport (PNS) and Dayton International Airport (DAY). Since 2014, the airline has nearly tripled its size from 49 aircraft and is well on its way to operate 150 Bombardier regional jets. This growth provides the opportunity to advance a career in aviation maintenance while being part of a dedicated team of individuals committed to providing support for the best operational reliability in the industry.
