PSA Welcomes First MSP Student to the Team

Andy Kozisek is PSA’s first Maintenance Student Pathways participant to join the team after successfully completing the program. Read below for more on Andy’s journey to PSA:

Q: What's your name and where are you from?

A: My name is Andy Kozisek and I am from Des Moines, Iowa. I received my A&P certificate from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Q: Why did you decide to join PSA’s MSP Program?

A: I joined the MSP Program because of all the incentives PSA was offering (tool box, pay for testing, new hire bonus, etc.) and because PSA seemed like a good place for me to learn and grow as a new A&P while working on new and modern aircraft. Getting a job at the Pensacola location was icing on the cake.

Q: How did you first learn about PSA and our MSP program?

A: PSA recruiters, Jazmine Ward and Hogan Kindrick, came and did a presentation at my school about PSA and the MSP. Joining the MSP [program], I had a job waiting for me before I even graduated. That was a huge relief knowing I could focus on finishing school and passing my tests (which PSA paid for) while not having the added stress of job hunting at the same time.

Q: What are 3 benefits you've received from participating in the program?

A: PSA paid for my A&P testing, I got my base of preference (Pensacola), PSA issued a brand new toolbox, PSA flew me to Florida for a company event, and probably my favorite benefit – just the knowledge that I already had a job waiting for me even 3 months before I graduated. That in itself was a major stress relief.

Q: What's a misconception you had of working as a maintenance professional that turned out not to be true when you started at PSA?

A: So far it feels like PSA really cares about their employees. Doing research on the company before signing with them, I saw some talk on Internet forums about how I’d be just another number in the system here. So far, that has not been my experience at all. Everyone has been more than willing to answer my questions and help me in any way they can. It feels like PSA wants to help me grow and succeed and be the best I can be.

Q: If you could give MSP students who are currently going through the program any advice, what would it be?

A: You made a great decision. Keep your nose in the books, pass your tests, and you will be rewarded with an awesome job with great benefits, as well as become part of a company that will help you grow and succeed and will open many doors for future career opportunities.
